The handsome, powerful 2-6-2 T steamlocomotive Eb 3/5 # 9 of the Dampf-Loki-Club (DLC) Herisau, now operated by Dampfbahnverein Zürcher Oberland (DVZO) on the turntable of Etzwilen, during a birthday party train ride. The "BT-Habersack" was built in 1910 by Maffei/Munich for the Bodensee-Toggenburg Bahn (BT), together with 8 sisters. When the BT line from Romanshorn via St.Gallen-Herisau-Wattwil to Nesslau was electrified in 1931, all 9 locomotives came to the SBB and were used till 1965, numbered # 5881 to 5889. Later, the # 9 came to the DLC and was used mainly to pull the famous AMOR-EXPRESS with 5 colorful cars. All red colors on the locomotive are not typical for a swiss steamlocomotive and were applied since she pulled the Amor-Express. Another former BT Eb 3/5, # 6, was exhibited at Degersheim from 1965 to 2004 and is now with association San Gottardo at Mendrisio. Maybe she will be operational some day again.
