A northbound Fox River Valley Railroad freight passes a small dairy farm between Campbellsport and Eden, Wisconsin, on May 13, 1990. A colorful locomotive set from the Chicago & North Western spin-off short line provides the motive power—former CB&Q/Burlington Northern EMD SD24 No. 2402, former LS&I “alligator” Alco RSD-15 No. 2407 and former Southern Railway EMD SD35 No. 2500. This portion of the C&NW’s “Air Line” from Milwaukee to Fond du Lac (and eventually Green Bay) is abandoned from just south of West Bend to Eden and is now the Eisenbahn State Trail.
