Due to Tunnel work being done in the Chatsworth area, No. 14 the northbound Coast Starlight, detours through the Tehachapi Mountains to Bakersfield, up the Fresno Sub, over to Altamont pass and rejoin the Coast Route at Oakland. No. 14 drifts down the western side of the Tehachapi Mountains between tunnels 5 and 3 and past the remnants of collapsed tunnel 4 in the Bealville area.
