There is plenty of New York City history in this photograph! The dome of the landmark former Williamsburg Savings Bank Building (1875), together with the towers of the Williamsburg Bridge (1903), combine to form the backdrop for two of New York Transit's 'old soldiers' still going about their business at dusk on a spring evening in April 2018. An outbound J train of R32 stock, the oldest still in operation on NYT (1964), meets a Z train of empty R42 stock (1969-1970) heading into Manhattan. The Chase Manhattan Bank signage atop the buildings on the left, completes the scene.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
