Remarks & Notes
The Blonay-Chamby Railroad Museum is celebrating 50 years of service, it was the first museum railway of Switzerland. For the celebration, in addition to the 5 own operational steamlocomotives, another 5 were invited. This is the privately owned tiny G 2/2 "Ticino", built in 1889 by Jung at Jungenthal/Germany for work at the river correction in the Ticino, Magadino plain. In 1941 she was withdrawn because the boiler was worked out, but she survived for about 20 years, till she was rescued by Mister Guido Travaini from Mendrisio. He kept her dry and hidden in the basement of his house, till he died. His family loaned the locomotive in 2016 to steam expert Martin Horath from Goldau (who is in the cab) and he made it operational, together with some friends, in about 3 months. Now the "Ticino" is guest at the Blonay-Chamby Railroad Museum, shunting in Chaulin museum.
