| Old and battered but still strong. WAM4s on the Indian Railway network are one of the first AC mainline locomotives to be deployed for prestigious trains. Most of these locomotives have completed their codal life and are being scrapped in favour of the more advanced 3Phaser's P5s and P7s.
21289 depicted in this photograph is probably amongst the last WAM4 locomotives of the Bhilai Loco shed which wear this unique blue and white livery. This photograph is over an year old and I suppose this locomotive would have been condemned by now. |
