Remarks & Notes
Denver & Rio Grande Western narrow gauge K-36 class 2-8-2 486 stands on display at the Royal Gorge Park. If you have visited the Durango & Silverton since 1999, you may have seen the 486 on the property or pulling a train, and if you’ve visited the Royal Gorge Park Since then, you would have seen K-37 class 499 there. That’s because the DSNG found the K37 class to be too big to comfortably traverse the line to Silverton, and they traded the park for the slightly smaller K-36. Note the history lesson about D&RGW heralde on the tender.
