Remarks & Notes |
I made 2 trip to Saskatchewan back in 2010-11. There are some cool railroad operations and scenery in this providence. One of the must do shortlines was the Great Western railroad. The railroad was still featuring their ALCO M420's for their road trains. Newer power was on the way in 2011, but we lucked out to get the ALCO's still roaming the Canadian Prairies. Out of the on Fife Lake Sub pair of M420's rumble thru the quite streets of Rock Glen on the way to Coronach to spot empties.
In 2006 seven local municipalities started operation of the Fife Lake Railroad. The operations took over 58 miles of the Canadian Pacific's Fife Lake subdivision. This line is operated by the Great Western. |
