Remarks & Notes
The U703 picked up power at Manchester while meeting 2 eastbound trains. The head 2 NS units are off a U705 that spotted Dyersville. The U703 was madeup of the rear 2 CSX motors and the train. Seen here passing the Beth Siding between Winthrop and Masonville. As you can see by the rusted rails, there hasn't been a train in it for a long time. This old bridge too might be on its last leg too? September 11, 2018 the Beth Siding was removed from RTC control. Leader is SD80MAC 7228, was the 1st SD80MAC built by EMD in 1995 as the EMDX 8000. Then this unit was in a trade between NS and CSX which the NS acquired 12 SD80MAC's from the CSXT for 12 SD40-2's from the NS. This unit has been numbered EMDX 8000, CR 4128, CSXT 812, CSXT 4602, and now NS 7228.
