Amtrak's New Brunswick Station - built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1903, the station replaced an earlier 1838 station built by the PRR successor, the New Jersey Railroad. That station could no longer be used once the tracks were raised above street level. The design of this station is similar to that of the Chester Transportation Center in Pennsylvania, which interestingly enough, was also built in 1903. The station is listed in both the state and federal registers of historic places.
