Remarks & Notes
0-8-0 cogwheel steamlocomotive, most powerful 1 meter gauge cogwheel steamlocomotive of Europe with 800 horsepower, is crossing the Steinstafel viaduct over the Furkareuss between Tiefenbach and Furka, on 1900 meter a.s.l., with a test train from Realp to Gletsch and back. The locomotive was built in 1923 by the SLM Winterthur and delivered to Indochina (Vietnam). It was brought back to Switzerland in 1990 and was completely rebuilt during about 10 years. Now ist is finished and functioning like a swiss clockwork.
