This loaded Sydney Coal Railway (SCR) train has just left the coal dock in Sydney and is en route to the generating station at Lingan, with ex-Devco GP38-2s 228 and 218 leading 21 cars. These trains run weekdays and typically make one or two round trips. This location is the junction with the CBNS Sydney Sub., but since service was discontinued on that line a few years ago, there is no active rail connection. In the past, some coal cars were interchanged to head to the mainland, and occasionally CBNS equipment would be sent on the SCR to their impressive shop facilities at Victoria Junction.
