Remarks & Notes
Storms brew at Cienega Creek and the railroad sure needs to get things moving again quickly. I say that because, this shot is an uncommon EB power move on top track because the 3rd engine (a c40-8w) died on them, also thus creating single track conditions for a while. They had to drop off this bad unit in a spur track, then reverse to connect back to their train. Meanwhile time is ticking as the storm behind moves in and soon brings tons of close lightning and heavy rainfall as the day transitions to night.

The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
