Main street is empty and the flag is flying at the Post Office on this quite Saturday morning at Elmer. The peace is broke for a few minutes as this eastbound City of Industry, CA, to Global 4, IL, Z-train screams by. The train is working over the BNSF Marceline Sub between Kansas City and Fort Madison. There is little Saturday morning activity in this small town with the population of only 79. There can be more activity on the tracks then on main streets in some of these small towns in northern Missouri.
