| The local job serving the industries on the north bank of the Lachine Canal climbs the first leg of the switchback that will take the train back up to the Adirondack Subdivision mainline that crosses the canal on the swing bridge from which this photo was taken. The Allis Chalmers plant and other industries are long gone, the North Bank Branch track was lifted, and the Lachine Canal was closed to shipping in 1970. |
