A rare visitor to the east coast, Amtrak F59PHI 468 spent its life in the Pacific Northwest in Amtrak Cascades service. It came into town on the Capitol Limited and was destined for a brief tour of duty in Piedmont service before heading to work for Metra. An electrician disconnects cables as the red emergency strobe flashes.

Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
