Shortly after 7 PM the Interregio 1164 of the Rhaetian Railway from St.Moritz over the Albula line to Chur is crossing the iconic 65 meter high Landwasser viaduct near Filisur, under a nice starry sky. The 136 meter long viaduct with 6 bows of 20 meter span width was built from local lime stones between 1901 and 1902. The bridge is in a 2.0 % grade and the radius of the track is 100 meter. Since 2008 it is a highlight of the UNESCO World Heritage "Rhaetian Railway in the Albula / Bernina Landscapes". In 2009, the viaduct was reconstructed and is now in very good shape for the next decades. A 25 seconds, wide angle lens, exposure, with some light from my headlamp in the foreground.
