| Intermodal trains like Q184 are still on the move this day as the expansion project at CSX’s Fairburn Intermodal Terminal is nearly complete. The 8 loading/unloading tracks on the east side of the ramp have been lengthen to 7,000 linear feet and will soon be serviced by six brand new Kuenz electric RMG wide span cranes. These new cranes will more than double the terminal’s capacity from 350,000 lifts/year to 750,000 lifts/year once complete. One can only imagine that the other CSX Intermodal ramp of Hulsey in downtown Atlanta is most likely going to shift its operations here once this project is finished. |
