| The new Schenectady Amtrak station shows off it's Christmas colors during the blue hour 2 days prior to Christmas. The new station opened on October 17, 2018. It is styled after the classic original 1908 New York Central station that stood on this exact spot. That station was torn down in 1971 when service was moved to nearby Colonie. In 1978 a new 1970's style standard Amtrak style station opened in this spot when service returned to downtown Schenectady. |
