Santa Fe GP35u No. 2946 steps lightly over a visible "bump" in the rail on the pass east of Stockton Tower. The man on the ground is helping the engineer to navigate this nasty vertical kink without derailing the locomotive or damaging the track further. The locomotive is just west of Mormon Yard, with the tower visible in the distance at left.
