Like Sands thru the hourglass..... One of the more desolate locations on CNW's ore line north of Escanaba, MI was a place called Sands. Not much more than a station sign, it was often bypassed for the more scenic shots elsewhere on the line. But 3 Alco C628's lugging an ore train in May of 1986 more than makes up for what the location may lack in scenery.
