Remarks & Notes
Bow Coal at Jeff Junction

A unit train of coal bound for the Public Service of New Hampshire power plant at Bow, New Hampshire is approaching the Delaware & Hudson Penn Division at Jefferson Junction, Pennsylvania. Due to the expansion of the Belden Hill tunnel to accommodate stack trains, all trains between Binghamton and the north must go through the switchback at Jefferson Junction. The train here is on the Jefferson Connection, which linked the Erie Main Line with the D&H Penn Division, approaching a trailing point switch to enter the Penn Division, which is the track on the right. On the other end of the train are three P&LE GP38’s, typical power for this train, which will pull the train north, leaving the units seen here to meet the next train.
