Remarks & Notes
ex-C&NW 900. Unit was traded into Alco and was a lease unit for them and then Precision National before being sold to Peabody. The semaphore is the approach signal for the former PCCX/B&O diamond. Peabody's line became landlocked after the ex-B&O line (last operated by Prairie Trunk Ry.) was torn up. The mine opened in 1969 and closed in 1993. The rails were later removed. It is a mystery (to me anyway) as to what became of the locomotives and hoppers.
