Remarks & Notes
Most times I didn't cared for unmatched consists, but sometimes it didn't matter either! I am still not happy with the red bomb on the point, but man to see this stuff now days would be pretty crazy. My personal best was 18 units once out of Marquette on the IMRL heading back to Mason. Took the independent like 45 seconds to release!. Here 12 SD40's are a westbound train heading back to Mason City, IA, on IC&E. This wasn't completely unusual for big power moves on this section of railroad. Takes lots of power to get from Mason City to Marquette eastbound over the hills, but then there is river running with hardly any grades south of Marquette, so bunches of power can be setout at Marquette to be move back to Mason. This why you can see big move like this. In the CP era now I think 8 units might be max?
