Amtrak's northbound Southwest Chief, No4 races towards it's next stop of Raton as it makes the posted 79mph a few miles north of Maxwell, New Mexico on May 2, 2019. I have to say, 79mph on jointed rail sure sounded good, that's a sound I wasn't sure if I'd ever hear again. Never did I think I would pursue an average Amtrak train, but I had to cave like others and make the exception for the Chief between Las Vegas, NM and La Junta, Co.
Pace and pan shots of trains from on the ground or in the air. If you're not in the locomotive cab or on-board the train, it's the next best thing to being there.
