Running 6 hours 31 minutes late, Amtrak train 3, the westbound Southwest Chief, has had BNSF SD70ACe added to the consist in Trinidad, Colorado. One would suppose that one of the Amtrak P42DCs, 158 and 16, had an issue causing the freight engine to be added. The train is seen departing Fullerton, California, on August 15, 2019, and with the padding in the schedule it ought to arrive in Los Angeles, some 26 miles ahead, only about 6 hours late. The passengers must love this delay, although if they only knew that this train has been 13, 16, 17 and even 23 hours late within the last month, perhaps they might consider themselves lucky!
