The only place to meet trains between Pierre and Phillip is at JC Siding. Located at MP 505 and 6000 feet long, meets are pretty common here and at Wall (MP 591). With over 100 miles of 10 mph track, getting train across this end of the railroad takes a long time. So call times are based on the meets for these 2 sidings. As is the case this Sunday morning as the Huron to Rapid City trains meet here around 10 am. Eastbound trains can not take the siding so the east train has stopped to lined the west switch back from the last meet and is waiting on a track warrant to head to the east end and line that one back too behind this west train.
