Remarks & Notes
End of an era...the ex-Santa Fe signals have finally fallen at the end of 2019.There was a few signal bridges along the Marceline Sub that missed the 1st couple rounds of signal upgrades for the PTC. There was 2 bridges near Fort Madison including this one. Now all that remains is the skeleton of once what was. Here a UP trackage right stacker tops the .8% grade at New Boston, 10 miles west of Fort Madison, IA. Signals were retired October 1, 2019, and the bridge removed in the 2nd week of January 2021.
