Remarks & Notes
Cowl Crossing. A slightly premature dusk was created by clouds as NJTR 4120 (F40PH-2CAT, EMD) led NJ Transit Train 1881 over HX Draw crossing the Hackensack River from Secaucus to East Rutherford, New Jersey on the evening of Sunday, August 14, 2022. Of the original 17 F40PHs delivered in 1981, 4120 is one of 2 (4119 is the other) of these modern cowl units that remain in service with NJ Transit. After being relegated to work service, the units have found their way back to he active fleet in recent years. HX Draw was completed in 1911 for the Erie Railroad by Joseph B. Strauss of the Strauss Bascule Bridge Company of Chicago IL, one of the first steel trunnion bascule bridges in the world. This bridge carries Pascack Valley and Bergen County Line trains, in the background Upper Hack Lift carries Main Line trains.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
