Back in March 2017, a pair of Montana Rail Link locomotives were sent east from Montana to pay back some horsepower hours to the BNSF. On their way back west from Minneapolis, they were put at the front of a Northtown to Laurel manifest that was routed on the Wayzata Subdivision. I caught wind of it and had just enough time to get a few pictures of them arriving in Willmar. Unfortunately, BNSF power would be placed ahead of them for the remainder of the trip west from here. This scene shows them winding their way into Willmar Yard, giving a few of us Minnesota railfans a brief taste of the MRL.
