"M3s View the NYC Skyline for the Last Time"
Long Island Rail Road Budd M3 railcars 9848 & 9847 are loaded and ready to be secured for their trip to Ohio at Maspeth Yard in Queens, NY. A handful of notable New York City landmarks can be seen in the distance.
On the morning of April 24th, 2022, six M3 railcars (9847/9848, 9773/9774 & 9813/9814) were placed onto the Navy Lead in Maspeth Yard (Nicholls Siding) where they were detrucked and loaded onto flatcars by Frontier Industrial Corp for transport to Ohio for scrap.
