Closed Platform.
New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R46 no. 6168 (Pullman-Standard, 1974-1975) is the lead motor on a Euclid Ave-bound C train, seen here stopped at Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts Station on the IND Fulton Street Line. Like many other places in the system, this station features provisions for expansion of the Independent Subway System (IND) in the form of two additional tracks and platforms for local trains on the Fulton Street Line. Currently unused, these tracks connect to the former Court St Station - now the NY Transit Museum - and were intended to connect to the long planned IND 2nd Avenue Line. These plans never came to fruition, and Court St was only ever served by the HH shuttle from Hoyt-Schermerhorn Sts, which was discontinued and the station closed in 1946. Nowadays service on the Fulton Street and Crosstown Lines use only the two inner island platforms, and the abandoned outer platforms see no use except the occasional film shoot, including movies such as Crocodile Dundee, The Warriors, Coming to America, and the music video for Michael Jackson's Bad.
