Vintage Rotary. What would ultimately become Conrail 64599 was built by the Cooke Locomotive and Machine Works of Paterson, New Jersey in coordination with Leslie Brother in January 1889 for the Rome, Watertown & Ogdensburg Railroad (RW&O). After the RW&O was purchased in 1891 by the New York Central & Hudson River Railroad, it was renumbered as X-659, later NYC X-659, and Penn Central 60021. Originally steam powered, the plow was subsequently converted to electric in 1951 and overhauled by Conrail again in 1978. Last used during the winter of 1993-1994, it was retained under CSX ownership and donated to the Western New York Railway Historical Society in 2003. On the night of February 3, 2021, it sits in Hamburg, New York at one of the Society's storage areas as a silent witness to the recent snowfall.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
