Remarks & Notes
The Beech Mountain Railroad is a small coal hauling railroad deep in the mountains of West Virginia. It toils away in relative obscurity, often quite difficult to catch as it can be days, weeks, or even months between loadings. I was very fortunate to catch them working this day, and the 113 has since been taken out of service, replaced by an elderly EMD end cab switcher. The train is shoving the last cut of coal to the Appalachian & Ohio Railroad interchange, and will be done for the day, with the 113 tucked away in the engine house for the remainder of the year.
