On ausgust 10, a northbound freight train derailed in the Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT) and since then, both bores are closed. All passenger trains and some freights, which are able to go through the lower claerance, are rerouted over the "old" mountain line, now called panorama line. Freight train 60219 from the Limmattal shunting yard (RBL) to Bellinzona and Chiasso shunting yard, can be seen on the 106 meter long Pianotondo viaduct on the uppermost level of the loops of the Biaschina, between Lavorgo and Giornico. Pulling are Bombardier TRAXX F140 MS Re 484 # 001 and # 013 of the SBB in multiple control, towing the Re 420 # 332 (Re 4/4 II # 11332) with probably destination industrial works Bellinzona for repair or revision. The Pianotondo viaduct was built in 1882 as truss bridge and rebuilt in 1893 and 1919 to the present appearance.
