Remarks & Notes
The diesel shunter Tm # 506 of the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) has no cogwheel drive and is used for shoving the steamtrain through the 1874 meter long summit tunnel in the direction Muttbach-Belvedere to Furka DFB, which has a maximum grade of 3.5 %. This is a requirement of the operating regulations for safety reasons. Conductor Karl, wearing the original DFB uniform of the first years on this jubillee event, is waiting to line switch 33 in Furka DFB station. The 120 HP diesel shunter Tm 2/2 # 506 was built in 1953 by Asper and came to the DFB in 1994 from the Chemins de fer du Jura (CJ).
