Remarks & Notes
Fairbanks yard is the northernmost engine house in North America and these two cold warriors are amongst the most senior locomotives of the fleet. GP38-2 #2004 came to Alaska in 1986 from Conrail and GP40-2 #3006 is the very first of the new GP40-2s ordered in 1975 and was originally numbered #3000. Some time after the GP35s, ARR changed their numbering to begin with -01, this quickly was changed to the 3006.
