Two BNSF coal trains battle the one percent grade of Logan Hill in Wyoming's Powder River Basin as they head south to deliver their loads of "black diamonds" to power plants across the Mid-West. Climbing up Main 1 (far right) is BNSF 9311 pulling 150 cars (21,397 tons) of North Rochelle Mine coal for the Oklahoma G&E Sooner Plant in Red Rock, OK. Behind the 9311, on Main 3, is the BNSF 5823 pulling the C-BTMCEJ-083A. Three locomotives are pulling 135 cars of Black Thunder Mine coal to Centralia, IL where it'll be interchanged with the Norfolk Southern and taken to the Newton Power Station in Jasper County, IL.
