A mudslide across the tracks near Scarborough, New York tangentially caused a rare visit by Amtrak's 50th Anniversary "Midnight Blue" unit AMTK 100 to the area, and that was a good reason to head out on Monday, October 23, 2023 and take in some of the fall foliage after the partial restoration of service.
