Colorado’s Joint Line, when it was relocated around Denver Union Station, was once out in the open. But no longer, as can be seen by this southbound BNSF coal train growling through an urban canyon of buildings and lofts on August 22, 2021. Parallel to the Joint Line through this part of downtown Denver is RTD light rail trackage at the Union Station LRT station stop, visible at the far right.
