Remarks & Notes
SPV Moves On Metro-North. In the early morning hours of Saturday, November 18, 2023, MTA Metro-North Railroad "Work Extra 107" transported former CDOT SPV/Constitution Liner 1001 from The Danbury Railway Museum in Danbury, Connecticut to the Naugatuck Railroad/Railroad Museum of New England in Waterbury/Thomaston, Connecticut. In 1981, 13 Budd SPV-2000s were built Connecticut DOT, Budd's successor to the RDC. After serving briefly, they were found to be unsatisfactory and withdrawn from service. Subsequently, 11 of these cars were converted to "Constitution Liners" (basically de-powered SPVs as coaches). Car 1001 became a conference car, retaining cab controls at one end. After retirement, it was purchased by a private owner and stored at the Danbury Railway Museum. This transfer, using MNCW GP-35r 107 (née-SOO 728, GP35, 5/1965, EMD) brought the car to the Railroad Museum Of New England/Naugatuck Railroad, where it will be used in passenger service in the near future. The car has arrived at the division post with Metro-North at Waterbury, Connecticut with the famed Waterbury Clock Tower in the background.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
