Remarks & Notes
The World's First Mainline Electric. 2 years ago today, November 22, 2021, New York Central S-1 100 was stuck in the woods on a disconnected siding in Glenmont, New York. The public did not know it at the time, but The Danbury Railway Museum was working behind the scenes to coordinate the rescue of this unique locomotive along with NYC T-3a #278. Both served the commuters of the New York City region for decades before being saved from the scrapper's torch. The museum will make an announcement soon about the next steps of this project, follow and like their page for more information.
