CNJ Trio. NJ Transit continued its annual tradition of operating the Railmen for Children Special on Friday, December 6, 2019. NJTR GP40PH-2s 4109 and 4100 were paired up for the train with 4109 making its CNJ tribute scheme debut selected to lead the consist. What is estimated to be a thousand area children were treated to a unique experience by generous NJT volunteer staff. NJTR 4101, which has since been repainted in the NJDOT tribute scheme, was departing Hoboken Terminal in Hoboken, New Jersey on an adjoining track heading for the yard in the pre-dawn hour. While all 13 GP40Ps that were ordered for CNJ in 1968 are still on the property, these are the only three that remain in passenger service.
