Beachball At First Light. The first shot of the day was in Cold Spring, New York, showing the heritage units and vintage cars with a nice reflection on the Hudson River.
The MTA Metro-North Railroad Employee Holiday Train tradition continues! Metro-North Railroad MNCW 208 (MNR "Beachball"/40th Anniversary) and MNCW 211 (New York Central Heritage/40th Anniversary) held down the assignment day four of the Employee Holiday Train on December 12, 2023, which made the round trip from Grand Central Terminal in New York, New York to Poughkeepsie, New York, bringing the MNCW 211 to the east/south position on the train in daylight. One of the cars is former New York Central, and the other two former Lackawanna Railroad. The train travels to various MNR facilities to deliver the company gifts and some cheer to employees over several days during the holiday season.
