Remarks & Notes
Snow Day At Mine Dock. During a stead snowfall on February 19, 2021, CSX Q003 emerges from the tunnel at Mine Dock Park, in Fort Montgomery, New York with CSXT 5442 leading. Not visible through the snow is the 1902 date above the arch of the tunnel, the date when the New York Central completed the structure on the West Shore Railroad, the modern day CSX River Sub. New York Central Railroad bought controlling interest in the New York, West Shore and Buffalo Railway on November 24, 1885 from the Pennsylvania Railroad in a deal coordinated by J.P. Morgan to avert the NYC from continuing to build a line into PRR territory.
