During, before and after the Lauberhorn ski races in January, the Wengernalp Railway is always working at full capacity. As there is no road to Wengen, all equipment and visitors have to be transported on the 80 centimeter gauge cogwheel railroad. After the downhill race on saturday, for the transport of spectators back to Wengen-Lauterbrunnen, there circulated shuttle trains between Allmend and Wengen with 60 years old vehicles. Here we can see on the left BDhe 4/4 # 114 with cab car Bt # 213 (both built in 1963) with ski transport car Ok # 606, waiting for the crossing at the end of the doubletrack section above Wengen. On the right, running down from Allmend, is BDhe 4/4 # 115 (1963) with cab car Bt # 275 (1968) and ski transport car Ok # 616 of 1929.
