Remarks & Notes
New Haven In Cannondale. The same year that this station was completed in 1892, the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad took over the Housatonic Railroad, which in turn controlled the Danbury & Norwalk Railroad. On January 3, 2024, a cab signal failure in the cab car of MTA Metro-North Railroad Train 1841 caused MNCW 230 (P32AC-DM, New Haven Tribute/Penn Central Logo) to lead, facing geographically south towards Grand Central Terminal. This is a favorite location to capture this kind of rare occurrence as the high-level platform obstructs the view of the station in the other direction, the home rails tribute unit was another bonus. Cannondale Station was added to the National Register of Historic Places for its 100th birthday in 1992.
