Meet Me At Manitou. Sounds from all directions made it difficult to figure out who would get there first, but a double headed Amtrak 49 (Lake Shore Limited) and 290 (Ethan Allen Express) met in an open area in Manitou, New York on January 20, 2024. Like a straight line of red, white and blue, the Phase III paint stretches across over 200 feet. The 18 Amtrak Empire Service GE P32AC-DM locomotives are all painted in these colors, an adaptation of the vintage scheme with the modern Amtrak logos.
