Remarks & Notes
Macro Four To Three Photography. Constructed for the 1954 opening of the connection BMT and IND between the Church Avenue and Ditmas Avenue Stations in Brooklyn, New York, the switches that joined tracks B3 and B4 on the Culver Ramp were of an intricate design. When it came time for their recent replacement, it was decided to break up the interlocking and separate the switches. On the evening of Wednesday, February 14, 2024, Metropolitan Transportation Authority - MTA NYC Subway R-42 4791 leads a garbage train out of the portal towards Ditmas Avenue Station and Coney Island Yard. In New York City's system, refuse from stations is removed by rail and brought to one of several yards to be transferred for disposal. This car is notable for the large "A" resembling the original display, which was added for the New York Transit Museum "Farewell To The R-42s" excursion on February 12, 2020. In the background, the Freedom Tower in Manhattan rises above the scene.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
