Winter Shooting. On the freezing cold afternoon of February 20, 2015, CSXT 5264 (ES44DC) pops out of the tunnel in Knoxville, Maryland as it approaches the Potomac River crossing heading towards Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The tunnel was completed by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad in 1931, joining today's together CSX Shenandoah and Cumberland Subs. To the left in the photo is a notch in the arch, carved out in the modern era to accommodate taller freight cars. When there are leaves on the trees, part of this s be obscured, so it's worth it to be cold for little while to catch the whole scene.
